We often hear that we learn from our mistakes. But our successes have something to teach us, too—even the small ones we barely notice.
Maybe you paused before reacting, asked for what you needed, or started something you’d been putting off. Those moments offer clues about what helps you act like the person you want to be.
Take a moment to explore one:
1. Remember a small success.
Think of a recent moment when you handled something in a way you felt good about. What did you do that reflected who you want to be?
2. Get curious about what helped.
Were you better rested? Did you give yourself time to think, ask for support, or speak to yourself more kindly? Consider both your choices and the circumstances that made them easier.
3. Bring one piece into today.
Choose something you can repeat. If taking a breath helped you respond calmly, try it before your next difficult conversation. If breaking a task into smaller steps helped you begin, use that approach again.
You don’t have to recreate the whole moment. Start with one useful piece of what worked.
Your turn: When have you caught a glimpse of the person you want to be? What helped you show up that way—and how could you bring a little of that into today? Share in the comments if you’d like.
