Name the Emotion: Awareness is Key

Objective: Increase awareness by identifying the emotion you’re experiencing.

Why It Works: Naming emotions helps you gain clarity and reduces their intensity by activating the rational part of your brain.

Instructions:

  1. Pause and ask yourself, “What am I feeling right now?”

  2. Choose a word to describe your emotion (e.g., sadness, anger, joy).

  3. Notice where you feel it in your body and how intense it feels.

  4. Observe, without judging it.
